A note from the author, Konstantinos Giotis, DHI Global Medical Group Founder

Fifty years have passed since I founded the first DHI Clinic in Palo Alto California. With today’s developments in hair restoration, I find myself in the situation of being more enthusiastic than ever about the subject. My particular area of interest has been and still is research and development. From the era of punch grafts in the 70’s to today’s Direct Hair Implantation (DHI), great leaps of progress have been made. In the last fifty years I have met thousands of hair loss sufferers from all five continents, and what still strikes me the most is seeing how vulnerable all these men and women are when alopecia lands on their doorstep. In part, this is why my constant message to the DHI team worldwide is: "put yourself in their shoes, feel how they feel and respect each hair follicle as if it is your own"
